Professor Buteyko's visit to the U.K. In June 1999, Professor Buteyko, the founder of the Buteyko Breathing method, and his wife Ludmilla made their first visit to the UK. Margaret Brooks ( now retired ) who ran the UK Buteyko Breathing Centre in Blaby, Leicester, helped to promote his visit with her patients. Professor Buteyko gave 2 lectures, at the London Heart Hospital, on how to cure asthma, allergies and other hyperventilation diseases. Experienced Buteyko practitioners, trainees and other health professionals attended them. He also conducted 2 intensive training courses.
