Gemma Blackmur Age 10 Years

Gemma has had inhalers all through childhood. Last year she had a really bad attack and was on five courses of steriods all through summer and had to take four puffs of her inhalers morning and night. She was getting bloated, couldn't exercise at school and if she went out to play, she'd come in as limp as a rag doll. We did a weekend course in Buteyko with Margaret Brooks. It was tough and we wanted to give up half way through but everybody felt the same so we stuck it out and at the end we were on a high.

We do the exercises together every morning for 30 minutes and its become part of her routine. To start with Gemma could only hold her breath for seven seconds, now she can do it for a minute.
