It must be said that following the Buteyko method of breathing is not easy. It takes a lot of self-discipline and commitment. It is not an 'easy fix'. You have to do exercises night and morning for approximately 40 minutes and check your breathing all day. You must follow this regime until your symptoms have subsided sufficiently to reduce your inhalers and eventually come off them altogether. I still monitor my 'control pause' daily, but no longer need to do the breathing exercises so religiously as I am now healthy and well and have no asthma symptoms.

I would not hesitate in recommending the Buteyko method to anyone with asthma. It has revolutionised my life and it has the potential to do the same for every other asthma sufferer.
